Amid Heavy Rain, BJP State President Rajeev Bindal Visits Shaktipeeth Shri Naina Devi, Opposes Use of Temple Funds for Government Projects

Braving heavy rain and dense fog, BJP State President Rajeev Bindal visited the famous Shaktipeeth Shri Naina Devi in Himachal Pradesh today along with his family to seek the blessings of the Goddess. During his visit, he strongly opposed the state government's decision regarding temple funds.

Opposition to Government’s Decision

Speaking to the media, Bindal criticized the Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu-led government for issuing a directive stating that donations collected at temples should be deposited in the government treasury and used for other developmental projects. He argued that this move goes against Sanatan culture and religious traditions.

Temple Funds Should Be Used for Cultural and Devotional Purposes

Bindal emphasized that major temples have been the foundation of Sanatan Dharma for centuries. The offerings made by devotees should be used for the welfare of priests, the preservation of ancient traditions, and the development of facilities for lakhs of pilgrims who visit these temples every year. He also pointed out that many temples run gaushalas (cow shelters), and their funds should be utilized for such religious and cultural purposes only.

Urges CM to Reconsider Decision

Calling upon the Chief Minister, Bindal urged that temple funds should strictly be used for promoting Sanatan culture and improving facilities for devotees. He demanded that the government withdraw its decision to divert temple donations for other purposes.
